I have suffered for many years with chronic fatigue, but when I searched this disease, I did not fit into the mold that had constructed for it.  Since COVID19 the parameters seem to be more inclusive.  Most of the articles that I read tell me to pace myself and maybe this is the answer, but I have not found it to be particularly helpful.

When I examine the issue more closely, I find that my problem goes back to the “spoon theory.”  I do not know how many spoons that I start out the day with.  As an example: I started out yesterday wide-eyed and ready to go.  I looked at my Fitbit app to see how well that I had slept and it gave me the hours, but not the quality of my sleep and then this blinking warning came on saying that irregular heartrate had been detected.

I attempted to contact my cardiologist, but everyone must have had a problem, because the phone rang busy each time that I tried to call.  Turns out his phone was experiencing difficulties and I was able to connect and was informed that if this happens again that I will need to do a sleep study. I also found out that my numbers were not as bad as they seemed because of the way that they are calculated.  I am on medication to control the afib.

It would appear that I have digressed, but actually this is part of the spoon problem.  I went to bed yesterday at 8:00 pm without washing my face, brushing my teeth, and brushing my hair because I was exhausted.  I barely had enough energy to get my PJ’s on.

I do not know how to calculate how many spoons that I have.  I only find out that I do not have enough to continue when I have run out of them. For those of you who seem to know how to pace yourself, I would love your feedback.
