For those of you who follow me, you know that I get some wacky ideas in my head and must do my due diligence where research is concerned to validate or debunk my idea. I became curious about the idea of building more or bigger blood vessels from a question that Joe Walsh asked Victor Tseng concerning the pain from inadequate blood supply to the legs.
On my research journey I like to consult the nonprofessional resources as well as the professional ones. The first site that pops up from the search is Predator Nutrition which is dedicated to the professional body builder who is wanting to enlarge the veins for purposes of posing and what is deemed to be aesthetically pleasing in body building.
This source proposes that the way to build vascularity is to build more bulk in the muscle. The more muscle bulk that you have, the more blood you need and so the body accommodates the muscle bulk by increasing the size of the vessels. This may not be the desired results from a health standpoint. Maybe we need to cause more vessels to be produced, so off to another source.
But wait!! The article also tells me that if I increase the number of repetitions to the high to moderate range that I can grow new blood vessels because of the production of nitrous oxide. Ok, this sounds like something that I need to pursue a little further. This is a little bit of a tease for you to stay tuned for my findings.
