My insurance company rewards me for certain activities by giving me points that I may use to purchase gift cards. In other words my insurance company is giving me back some of the money that I pay in premiums for activities that will make it less likely for me to have to use the insurance for things like hospitilization or expensive procedures.
I have constructed a chart for quick reference.
Activity Points
Exercise 5/mo 60/yr
Breast Cancer Screening 30/yr
Colon Cancer Screening 30/yr
Bone Density 20/yr
Flu Shot 10/yr
From the chart, you can see that the insurance company believes that exercise is the most important of all of these activities. The closer for this argument is that what is considered exercise is 500 steps/day/8days. Wow!! How much money would I get for exercising the recommended 10,000 steps per day or 30 minutes of moderate to vigorous activity 5 days a week?
It is so very important for us to “Keep On Keepin On.”
